Job Detail: Sr. JIB Accountant

Description:

• Collaborate in the preparation and review of monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) statements, ensuring their accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations.
• Process monthly adjustments, reversing and rebooking entries as needed.
• Analyze accounts receivable aging and devise effective collections strategies in coordination with the owner and Land Department.
• Address owner inquiries promptly, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
• Record journal entries accurately and efficiently.
• Calculate and process payouts for Operated and Non-operated wells, verifying the correctness of calculations.
• Mentor and train less experienced team members.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of SOX controls, policies, and procedures relevant to specific job duties.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices relating to joint interest accounting.

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Hold a minimum of five (5) years of experience in oil and gas accounting.
• Exhibit professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong analytical abilities, including handling and interpreting large datasets.
• Display a proactive mindset and the ability to create and improve processes.
• Possess knowledge of US GAAP and experience in conducting GAAP accounting research.
